It's after officers conducted speed checks in Mountrath over complaints of excessive speed on the Rushin Road.
Five drivers were detected above the speed limit.
One motorist was caught travelling at 99kmph in a 50kmph zone.
They have been issued with a €160 fine and three penalty points.
Mountrath Gardaí will be continuing to monitor speeds in and around the town and would like to ask the public to please slow down and be careful.
