Mysterious White Substance On Cars And Windows Post Storm Investigated With Taste Test

The event is rare, but not impossible.

For anyone who noticed a white residue on their cars and windows after storm Éowyn, Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather has done the 'taste test' to find out what it is.  

The forecaster carried out his own investigation by tasting the substance in the name of science.

The residue is sea salt, carried in by intense coastal gusts of wind.

This occurrence is rare and requires a severely strong wind to carry it as far as the midlands.
