IT was expected to be rolled out to 115,000 homes in 2021.
Just 4,000 homes will be ready for connection as part of the National Broadband Plan by the end of this year.
That's despite a target of 115,000.
The figures were revealed in response to a parliamentary question from Laois-Offaly TD and chair of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee, Brian Stanley, who was also told there are no penalities for failure to deliver within the plan's contract to protect the taxpayer.
