There were 11,204 claims against the State at the end of last year.

There's almost €5 billion in outstanding legal claims against the State.

That's an increase of €4 billion in the past 11 years, according to the Public Accounts Committee.

There were 11,204 claims against the State at the end of last year - €3.86 billion of the total €5 billion are cases of medical negligence.
