It's believed the wording of the law will cause headaches for HR managers.
The wording of new laws regarding parental leave have further complicated what new parents are entitled to from their employer.
That's the view of Colin Donnery of FRS Recruitment in Tullamore who believes the motivation of the legislation is to encourage fathers to use their paid time off.
As of today - both parents will be entitled to a further two weeks leave at a rate of €245 within the first year of their child being born.
