New Lifeboat For Lough Ree RNLI

It'll be officially named at a ceremony next year.

Lough Ree RNLI has announced a new lifeboat is in service - replacing ''The Eric Rowse'' after assisting over 700 people.

The new addition will be officially named at a ceremony at the Lough Ree Lifeboat Station next year.

Funding for the new vessel follows efforts by James Scougall in memory of his late wife Tara. 

It's expected the radar now available will allow volunteers to to operate more effectively in poor visibility.
