Three new school bus routes have been approved for pupils attending a Westmeath school.
Students at St Joseph’s in Rochfortbridge, will have access to the bus easing financial pressure on families.
The routes will cover Killucan, Kinnegad, Raharney, Clonard, and Mullingar, replacing private transport options parents had to pay for.
Parents will pay €75 per child annually, capped at €125 per family, with medical card holders exempt from fees.
Tickets have already been issued to families who applied on time, though they were notified of possible delays due to vetting.
Junior Finance Minister and Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy says Bus Éireann has vehicles and drivers ready, though some are waiting on final inspections and driver vetting:
