Laois has the lowest number in the midlands, with just 200 homes per 100,000 people.
A lack of second homes on the market in Ireland has been detailed in a new study.
The report, by property consultants Savills Ireland, highlights the Dublin commuter belt and Monaghan as the places with the lowest stock of second hand homes.
Laois is the worst performing of the midlands counties and the 9th lowest in the country, with just 200 homes per 100,000 people.
Offaly follows closely behind in 10th with 205 per 100,000 with Westmteath in 13th - at 224.
There are just 122 homes per 100,000 people in Monaghan while Leitrim performs best with 429.
