A former army ranger says it's 'perfectly normal' for Irish forces to co-operate with NATO exercises.
Concerns have been raised as an Irish Navy vessel was among NATO ships off the Irish coast this week while Russian vessels have also been spotted close to Irish waters.
Kildare South Independent TD Cathal Berry says the Russians could be engaging in naval exercises in neutral waters, and NATO would be patrolling and monitoring such activity along with the Irish ship.
