Norovirus Outbreak In Midlands Nursing Home

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre say it was one of 27 outbreaks on one week's report.

A midlands nursing home has been subject to a norovirus outbreak.

23 people reported as being ill last week, while there was one laboratory confirmed case of the illness, which is also known as the 'vomiting bug.'

It was one of 27 outbreaks reported by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre in this week's report.

The virus typically leads to someone feeling sick, getting sick or having diarrhoea, and symptoms can last for up to three days.
