The Clonbeale Bog in Rath has been a conservation project of Tullamore and Birr Lions Clubs.
A bog in the Midlands could eventually be turned into a recreational amenity.
The first phase has been completed at the Clonbeale Bog in Rath, which included a three week conservation works phase.
The overall project started in 2023 as a collaboration between Tullamore Lions Club and Birr Lions Club in an effort to conserve certain parts of the bog, with a feasiblity study and conservation plan carried out.
