An Offaly boy has raised 2,000 euro for the midlands hospice appeal after selling his bullock.

It was part of the Hooves 4 Hospice campaign, which involves farmers rearing animals, selling them and putting the proceeds towards the cost of building dedicated palliative care unit for the midlands.

Patrick Kelly from Clonaslee had been looking after the animal for two years before bringing it to the market:
