Tony McCormack will seek the Fianna Fáil nomination to contest the upcoming Election.
An Offaly Councillor has thrown their hat in the ring to contest the General Election for Fianna Fáil.
Tullamore Rep, Tony McCormack, has announced his intention to seek the party's nomination at a selection convention.
Mr. McCormack joins Eddie Fitzpatrick as the Fianna Fáil Councillors who will be contesting for a spot in the three-seat Offaly constituency.
That seat was long-held by the Cowens, with Barry Cowen giving it up after recently being elected as an MEP, and before that, it was held by former Taoiseach, Brian Cowen.
