Sean O'Brien says residents are being kept awake until the early hours.

An Offaly councillor is calling for an end to unofficial outdoor parties.

Cllr Sean O'Brien says up to 300 people gathered in Tullamore on Saturday, keeping residents awake until 3am.

He's critical of the lack of social distancing rules, using local laneways and doorways as toilets and leaving a significant amount of litter, including broken bottles.

The independent rep wants laws to be enforced so the situation doesn't get out of control for the summer:

He's being joined in condemning the situation by fellow councillor Ken Smollen.
