The horrific incident occurred on Saturday night.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Offaly on Saturday night, in which 10 pedestrians were injured after a car mounted a footpath.
It happened at O'Connell Street in Birr shortly after midnight.
It's understood five people were taken to Tullamore Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were described by gardaí as not life-threatening.
A boy in his late teens was arrested and taken to Birr Garda Station and was later released pending further investigations.
