The HSE says it will provide the next update in early February.
Offaly is one step closer to having a new primary care centre.
A progress report from the HSE shows the building of the new facility in Birr is now at Stage 3, with public submissions having been received.
The HSE will now review the submissions, with a further update expected in the second week of February.
Junior Health Minister Mary Butler made assurances in November that the HSE had not abandoned plans for the long-sought centre, after the proposed rectory site was rejected.
Fianna Fáil TD Barry Cowen is welcoming the progress:
HSE: Junior Health Minister Mary Butler concedes the pace of the progress is frustrating.
