Fianna Fáil will select its candidate to contest for a seat in the General Election in Offaly tonight.
Sitting councillors Eddie Fitzpatrick, Tony McCormack, and Peter Ormond are understood to have put their names forward ahead of the selection convention in the Tullamore Court Hotel later.
They'll be vying to retain the party's seat, which has been held by a member of the Cowen family for 50 years.
Fianna Fáil Leader, Micheál Martin, last week suggested they may put two candidates forward in the constituency.
