The guidelines have been in place since 2006.
An Offaly TD is urging the government to pause all new wind energy developments until updated Wind Energy Development Guidelines are published.
Independent rep Carol Nolan says the continued use of outdated 2006 guidelines is disrespectful to the local community.
This comes following the Lemanaghan Bog Heritage and Conservation Group, protest outside Offaly county council today.
She believes proposed wind turbines near Lemanaghan Bog, would destroy its archaeological importance.
Deputy Nolan says the government is delaying critical updates and ignoring community concerns:
