It's back to the drawing board for Fine Gael after Mairead McGuinness's withdrawal from the presidental race.
That's the view of Offaly TD John Clenndennen on his party's next steps, after the former Midlands North West MEP'S shock exit yesterday.
Ms McGuinness says she had made the decision due to health reasons, leaving the party to seek a new internal candidate to ratify at their convention next month.
Those remaining in race, Catherine Connolly and Gareth Sheridan are both wishing Ms McGuinness a swift return to full health.
