Westmeath didn't issue a dog fouling fine last year.
Only 44 fines for dog fouling were issued in the entire country last year.
The figure's been released by Vision Ireland as it highlights how dangerous it can be when dog owners don't clean up after their pets.
17 out of Ireland's 31 local authorities, including Westmeath, did not issue a single fine for the offence last year.
In Laois there 4 fines and in Offaly there were 3.
Kevin Kelly from Vision Ireland says despite fines recently being increased, the problem is getting worse.
