A large number of TDs left the Dail when Carol Nolan began to speak.
An Offaly TD has been the subject of a Leinster House walkout protest this afternoon.
Independent rep Carol Nolan has been speaking on the issue of special education in her constituency.
It marked the first time a member of the Regional Independent TDs was speaking as part of revised speaking rights rules.
As Deputy Nolan rose to her feet, a large number of opposition TDs immediately left Dail chambers.
When the Taoiseach had finished responding to Ms Nolan, Deputies from Sinn Fein, Labour, People Before Profit-Solidarity, and Independent Ireland streamed back into the house.
