Over 100 People Gather To Remember Ashling Murphy At Candlelit Vigil

Music and song filled the air in the grounds of Killurin GAA last night.

Over 100 people gathered at a candlelit vigil in Offaly last night to remember Ashling Murphy.

Music and song filled the air in the grounds of Killurin GAA, as people paid tribute to the 23 year old teacher, who was killed last month.

Her parents Ray and Kathleen, siblings Cathal and Amy, and boyfriend Ryan were among the crowd.

Her friend Laura described the Mountbolus woman as "the belle of the ball" who lifted the spirits of everyone.

Eileen Dunne from Killurin Community Alert and Development Group says they want to continue shining her light:

The group is also thanking the Gardaí for all their support and help in running the event.
