A new report from the the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation Trolley Watch found that of the 114,000 patients, 1,248 were children.
The Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar was the highest in the Midlands, with 1,360 patients admitted.
Portlaoise was the next biggest with 1,023, while Tullamore had 73 overall for the year.
University Hospital Limerick was the most overcrowded hospital with almost 22,500 patients.
