Over 100 of those are in EDs.
157 patients are waiting for a hospital bed today.
The latest Trolley Watch numbers from the INMO show 110 of those patients are waiting in Emergency Departments, with 47 in wards or hospital corridors.
There is currently only one person waiting for a bed in the midlands, in Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar, with no one on trolleys in Portlaoise and Tullamore.
The HSE has been aiming to discharge as many patients as possible by the end of this week, in an effort to avoid another spike in overcrowding over Christmas.
