Over 2,500 children are on disability therapy waiting lists in Laois and Offaly - with more likely going unaccounted.
Local independent TD Carol Nolan is branding the statistics as "shocking", and wants the issue tackled immediately.
More than 1,500 of those children currently registered with the three Children's Disability Network Teams that cover Laois and Offaly have complex care needs that require further supports.
And Deputy Nolan says the Health Minister has confirmed the picture isn't yet complete:
