The head of the HSE, Paul Reid says it's inspiring that Ireland is now ahead of the UK.
The Chief Executive of the HSE says he expects walk-in vaccine centres to continue to operate, after their success yesterday.
Over 20 centres will be open today offering people their first dose of a Covid vaccine, without an appointment.
431 people in the midlands availed of the service yesterday. They attended the vaccination centre at the Bloomfield Hotel, Mullingar.
Meanwhile, Ireland has overtaken the UK in the vaccine rollout, with 72.4%of adults fully vaccinated.
That's compared to the UK with 72.1%.
