Over 50% Of 1M Vehicles Clocked Speeding At Westmeath Speed Signs

The data found speeding at every monitored location.

Over 50% of 1.1 million vehicles have been clocked speeding past roadside speed signs in Westmeath.

Ballinahown has the highest speeding rate in the county, with 88% of drivers exceeding the limit.

That's according to new Chill Insurance analysis from 15 roadside speed signs across the county.

53% of vehicles were recorded speeding, with eight of the 15 monitored locations reporting rates above 50%.

Other hotspots include 76% at Ballinacarrigy Westbound, 75% per cent at Kilbeggan Eastbound, and 74% at Moyvore Eastbound.

The data found speeding at every monitored location, while Killulagh recorded the county's lowest rate at 17.
