Over €60,000 Allocated For Flood Relief Works In Laois

The Minister for the OPW announced the news today.

Over €60,000 is being given for flood relief works on a Laois river. 

Minister in the Office of Public Works, Patrick O'Donovan says the money will go towards removing deadwood/debris and pruning of trees along a 6 kilometre strech the River Nore. 

This is additional funding for phrase two of the project - over €80,000 was allocated to Laois County Council in the first phase. 

The amenity is used for canoeing, kayaking and angling.
