Staff are struggling to the number of patients presenting today.
The adult emergency department at Mullingar Regional Hospital is busy again today.
The hospital is 'in escalation' and the staff are working to manage the current adult in-patient and Covid-19 bed capacity, together with scheduled care.
Patients are asked to consider alternative options before attending the emergency departments.
If you do come to ED and are not triaged as seriously ill, you may need to wait for a long period to be seen.
However, those who require urgent care will be prioritised.
Hospital management is thanking the public for your support and understanding.
