People in the midlands are being encouraged to sign up to become puppy raisers for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The pups go to their foster family at the age of nine weeks until they are about 14 months old and over that time they learn basic social skills, obedience and how to walk on a lead.
The charity covers the cost of food and training equipment for the dogs as well as vet trips and all of the animal's primary needs.
