People Should Use Post Office If They Don't Want It To Close, Says Midlands Postmaster

An Post are facing backlash for increasing the price of a stamp to €1.65.

If people don't want to see their local post office closing, they should keep using it.

That's according to a midlands postmaster, as An Post comes under fire for increasing the price of a stamp by 25c to €1.65.

The cost of sending a letter has tripled in the past 20 years, from just 41c in 2002 - and the cost of sending a letter abroad is also increasing by 20c to €2.20.

Granard postmaster, Padraig McNamara, says they need to sit down with members of Government to secure the future of post offices in Ireland:
