Two midlands dog shelters are receiving major donations in the run up to Christmas.
Pet mania has announced it will be giving 120 packs of dog food worth over €2,600 to six shelters around the country including to the Offaly and Laois S-P-C-As.
A report from the animal retailer has found adoption rates to be a high of 84% in the last five years, however there are still issues with over 40% of older pets struggling to find homes.
