The survey was taken anonymously by students across the Midlands.
The first Planet Youth Report for the Midlands is being launched by the Minister with responsibility for Public Health.
A survey gathered anonymous information on lifestyle habits and wellbeing from students who had completed the Junior Certificate, across 40 secondary schools and 12 out-of-school settings throughout the Midlands in 2025.
The research explored a range of risk and protective factors that impact on young people’s physical and mental health and overall wellbeing.
Key findings from the Midland Regional report, which surveyed 3,378 students, include alcohol, smoking & vaping, health & wellbeing, screens, online life, school, family and community.
Minister Jennifer Murnane O'Connor says it's vital that the younger generation have "appropriate supports and care" to foster personal growth, self-belief, and the ability to make responsible, healthy choices
