Some demolition works will need to take place if permission is granted.
A planning application has been lodged to construct a 74 house estate in Laois.
Two existing buildings and five sheds will be demolished to make space for the development on Grattan Street in Portlaoise, along with a derelict services station at the front of the site.
The estate will have a mixture of three bedroom houses and two bedroom apartments.
