Plans Lodged For €24m Upgrade To Portlaoise Garda Station

It's being hailed as an important milestone for a divisional headquarters serving over 400,000 people.

Planning Permission for a €24 million upgrade to Portlaoise Garda Station is expected to be lodged in the coming weeks. 

It'll be the first major works to the site in 57 years, with building slated to progress at the end of next year. 

Chief Superintendent John Scanlon believes it's an important milestone for a divisional headquarters serving over 400,000 people across Laois, Offaly and Kildare. 

He says the revamp will have both functional and operational benefits:
