A decision on the application is due September.
There are plans to turn a former school in Westmeath into apartments.
Planning permission was previously given in 2018 to a contractor to carry out works at St Joseph's National School in Rathwire.
Now a time extension is being sought to do the refurbishments at the former school which is a protected structure.
A change of use is also required to see the construction of 27 homes at the site.
A decision on the amended application is due to be made by this September 24th.
