Property Tax Hikes For Two Midlands Counties In 2020.

Westmeath is the only county in the region that will remain unchanged.

Home Owners in two Midlands counties are facing an increase in property tax for 2020. 

Offaly county council are one of ten local authorities raising the charge by 15% from next year. 

This amounts to an €88 increase for a household valued at €300,000.

Those in Laois will see a jump of 10% on their bill - while Westmeath county council are maintaining the standard rate. 

The Irish Independent reports around 990,000 homes will be affected by the move throughout the country.
