The protest is taking place tomorrow.
A public protest to prevent the downgrading of maternity services at a Midlands hospital is taking place this weekend.
The Portiuncula Maternity Alliance is holding the rally and is calling on people from Offaly and Westmeath to join them in making their voices heard.
Their aim is to reinstate access to full services, and to commission an independent and external review of the GUH maternity network.
It follows a public meeting by the group on their mission, and their online petition for a sustainable and adequately staffed unit reaching over 3,000 signatures.
It takes place this Saturday August 16th and starts at noon in the Fairgreen Car Park in Ballinasloe.
