Plans are still at an early stage.

A former boarding school in the midlands could be used to house refugees in the future.

The Department of Integration says it's received an offer of accommodation for Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection at Inchmore House in Clara.

However, it says negotiations are ongoing, and it can't provide any further information at this time.

In a statement to Midlands 103, the Department of Integration says:

"The Department of  Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth received an offer of accommodation for Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) at Former Boarding School, Inchmore House, Clara, Co. Offaly, R35 YX78.  The offer is under negotiation, therefore no further information can be provided at this time."
