The removal and a thorough inspection have been organised.
The removal of rodents at a Laois courthouse has been ordered.
The pests were found at Portlaoise Courthouse last week.
Court Services have also requested a thorough inspection of the facility be conducted by pest control.
All cables will also be checked to ensure their safety.
Court Services also says the problems with the Portlaoise facility are not small, but it remains committed to building modern facility for the people of Laois, when resources are available.
Land has been acquired for a new development on a site in Kylekiproe.
In a further statement to Midlands 103, the Courts Services says:
“Facilities in Portlaoise are not at the level to facilitate the delivery of modern courts services. Our team there are continuing to do what they can to deliver the best service possible, bearing in mind that the courthouse was built at a time where service expectations were completely different.”
