The NUJ are speaking after RTÉ's announcement.
Any register set up by RTÉ must serve the public interest, and not public curiosity.
That's according to the National Union of Journalists following RTÉ's announcement that they intend to establish a Register of Interests and a Register of External Activities.
External working would need approval from a manager, and money paid towards events will be registered.
