Rural Independent TDs Warn Of Economic Destruction If Climate Action Measures Continue

The group has brought forward a motion in the Dáil calling for the removal of carbon taxes

The Rural Independent group say the country will be "destroyed economically" if climate action measures are allowed to continue.

The group has brought forward a motion in the Dáil calling for the removal of carbon taxes which they say hit rural Ireland the hardest.

It comes ahead of this evening's vote to scrap plans to ban the sale and distribution of turf.

Independent Laois-Offaly TD Carol Nolan says international organisations have warned that the measures will damage the country's finances.
