Simon Community Voice Concern Over New Housing Bill

The bill would affect emergency housing, with 333 people in the Midlands currently accessing it.

We need to speak up and speak out for those accessing emergency services. 

That's the message from the Executive Director of the Simon Communities of Ireland, as charities across the country are urging Housing Minister James Browne to put the new housing bill on hold.

Charities working on homelessness are raising concerns regarding a new housing bill potentially preventing vulnerable individuals from accessing emergency housing.

In the midlands, there are 333 people living in emergency accommodation with 110 of those being children, according to the latest report from the Department of Housing.
