Modular Homes Should Stay In Laois Instead Of Being Shipped Off To Ukraine

The units cost €145,000 each and will house up to four people.

Sinn Fein says it's important the 42 modular homes being built for Ukrainians in a Laois town will be used locally once they return home. 

Laois Offaly TD Brian Stanley says the units will be up and ready to move into in Rathdowney in June.

He's also dismissing the OPW's suggestion to ship them to Ukraine once the war is over, as he believes it would be too expensive to transport them across Europe:
