Brian Stack's son Austin has released a new book on his father to set the record straight.
The son of a prison officer murdered by the IRA wants the State to take responsibility for their failed investigations into his father's death, and for those who were involved in his killing to finally meet convictions.
Brian Stack was the chief prison officer working on the IRA wing of Portlaoise Prison in 1983 when he was shot and subsequently died one year later.
His son Austin Stack, a former Assistant Governor in the Irish Prison Service has released a new book, 'Justice For My Father'.
He says he wants to set the record straight on a number of mistruths spread by republican nationalists online.
He says previous attempts at reconcilliation have fallen flat:
