The South Westmeath Hospice committee is vowing their campaign is not yet over – despite the first steps being taken.
It follows a meeting between committee members, local TDs and Health minister Simon Harris in which he said plans to the facility will be shelved.
Minister Harris also acknowledged that the HSE has gone through the process in the wrong way.
