Spanish Confusion Prevents Westmeath Man From Returning Home

He says he's desperate to get home to see his family.

A Westmeath man says he's "running into a brick wall" in his efforts to get home from Spain.

Peter Bracken, who's been living there for the last 14 years, hasn't been back to Ireland since before the pandemic.

Despite being fully vaccinated, he says the Spanish system for non-nationals doesn't allow him to sign up for the EU Digital Covid Cert.

The Mullingar man says he's anxious to get home but no explanation has been offered by the authorities:
