Gardaí in Westmeath are investigating the incident.
A garda investigation in underway after a man in a balaclava entered a Westmeath shop and threatened staff.
The robbery took place in Mullingar on Wednesday at around 8:40pm in the Millmount road area of the town.
A small sum of cash was taken and the man fled the scene.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact them.
