Protests are set to take place outside the Dail next Thursday.
A trip to the Labour Court is the only way to resolve an impending strike by school secretaries and caretakers.
That's according to Laois Forsa Leinster Rep, Esther Luttrell, with 2,600 secretaries and caretakers across the country set to protest outside the Dail next Thursday.
The action is being taken in an attempt to secure improved terms of employment around pension rights that other public servants enjoy.
With the new school year getting underway next week, the planned strike could affect schools outside of the State's Education and Training Boards sector.
Ms Luttrell, who's based in Stradbally, says there will be no backing down from the strike:
