The midlands is being promised a month of fine weather.

Temperatures will reach up to 20 degrees this weekend, then stay between mid to high teens over the next few weeks.

The dry, warm weather has prompted a status orange forest fire warning to be issued for the long weekend.

People are being urged not to light fires or BBQs in high-risk areas.
